Father, Wow You gave me so much energy to get the back yard winterized. It is looking a lot neater then it was went I went out. I only need to trim up the strawberry vines, mow, weed eat and maybe spray a few areas out back. I pray that today as Doug and Shirley come to help me finish fixing the tent garage structure that all goes well and according to your plans not mine! Help us with this project. Father, I know it was by your hand that I went to the staff meeting. Still not sure why, but it is an obligation and I fulfilled it. I am anxious to go out and burn the raspberry plants I have cut down in prep for winter. Now to get them gone and enjoy an outdoor fire and coffee! But I do not want to rush through my prayer time. I have trouble sleeping because I have put off so many little things I need to get done - banking, taxes, processing the will. I talk big, but I worry and these are the thorns in my side because of fear I let the enemy hold over me. I wrote that yesterday, but I am still in chapter 2. Using the parable about the widow and the judge. It reveals that God is not like that judge. God is a giving God; a blessing God; an encouraging God; a nurturing God; an empowering God and a loving God.

Father, 

Awe, another Sunday in your house.  I am really struggling as to this cold and should probably stay home, but I will go.  I have Prime Timer Tickets to get to people.  Vicki and Terry will be offering the sermon today as our pastors are at retreat until this afternoon and then tonight is the wind up for Lifetrack #4 putting it all together and I love to see how You turn on the light in their lives at this point. I pray You will give me the energy to make it through this morning. Bless the Sunday School class I will be leading and each woman in the class. May they take to heart the material we will cover and find a new closeness to You. Help me to enjoy leading the class or show me that it is not my gifted area and that I should not go there. Guide my steps today and help me find my sweet spot in serving You. Thank you for the dozen or so ladies that will be making Sunshine Sacks for Dee and Greta. All this I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Father, 

Again today I ask for healing of this cold. I pray it does not become serious. I know your Word can be sent to me and heal me. My faith and trust is in You.  I love you and I love taking the time to be closer with You. I don't know why yesterday was hard for me and I did not want to come here. I pray that does not happen again and I rebuke the enemy in his attempt to keep from You.
My prayer would be that many women will join in giving Sunshine Sacks to Greta and to Dee.
Father, I pray you continue to work on me - draw me closer, build my faith and give wisdom to follow You and an awareness of when You want me to do something. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Prayerless people cut themselves off from God's prevailing power, and the frequent result is the familiar feeling of being overwhelmed, overrun, beaten down, pushed around, defeated. Surprising numbers of people are willing to settle for lives like that. Don't be one of them. Nobody has to live like that. Prayer is the key to unlocking God's prevailing power in your life.

Father, 

I ask for healing of my body from this cold. My spot where surgery was done is sore I think from the coughing. Lord I know You heal and I boldly claim that healing as your child. I know I do not always do what is right, but I am trying and I submit to You. I find my faith growing and my delight in prayer with You as well. Help me today to have strength and energy to help Donna and Ken with their sale preparation. Help me to continue to seek your truths about prayer, praying and prayers in the Bible. Give me a new and fresh understanding as it all comes together. Show me how You want me to use that information if that is Your will. Guide my steps in putting together an agenda for the Prayer Planning Team. Draw close to me so I feel your presence as I go into my time of intercessory prayer. In Jesus name, Amen.

His supernatural strength is available to praying people who are convinced to the core of their beings that he can make a difference.

Father, 

I am a bit under the weather as I did too much yesterday and kept this cold going. I ask that You would heal me and I will be healed, for You are the one I praise. I will try again to rest today. It is a cool morning with beautiful sunshine and suppose to be very warm today.
I have been feeling a bit odd at church. I am very sensitive and trying to feel my way along ... I may be into too many things that are not mine to fuss with. So I feel drawn to focus on what my gifts have to offer - evangelism and intercession. I am going to try and get a team for prayer planning going. Now I need to work on an agenda.
I do ask for help in leading the Women's Sunday School class as the book discussions did not happen this last week and I am thankful for all the prayer requests. I pray that You will equip me to continue leading the class and do it with enjoyment. Help me with that role showing me if it is something I should or should not pursue. 

I seek a closer relationship with You and I ask what do You want from me in order for it to be closer? I pray You will help me with this time of day set aside just for you and me. Help me to feel Your presence throughout the day.

I now go into my prayer time of intercession ... but I ask again boldly for You to guide my path as the Prayer Coordinator for the church. Help our church to grow and become a House of Prayer. Increase the number of prayer warriors that will come out to pray on Thursday and on Fridays. All this I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.

I can and have read lots of books about prayer, attended seminars and even participated in prayer seminars, as well as study the bible about prayer, but what found I needed to do is simply PRAY, regularly and often - daily, but also moment by moment  - sharing joys and concerns. As I grow in prayer, God reveals more of himself to me. Friendship with God, trust, confidence, peace, relief ... all these wonderful things are mine as I build a relationship with Him through prayer. If you struggle with prayer like I did, but you feel drawn to building that relationship and want to talk about it I am there for you - but more importantly God is there for you.

The camp trip went so well and that was a blessing. Sitting in the morning with coffee and watching the river flow by was so calming and reminds me of all God made for us to enjoy.

No matter how close we are to our spouse, children or friends they will eventually leave us by death or not be around all the time when we need them ... but God is and will always be with us. Proverbs 18:24 says "There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. I have really started experiencing this since Dick passed away. I still have anger issues and fight it - but God is always right there to comfort me and he is faithful when I am not.

My sister Joan in Washington has settled into her new little home which is just off from her son's home/garage. Selling her home of 40 plus years was hard on her, but she seems happy so that is a blessing. The sale of her home went smoothly - thank you Jesus!

I was able to put the tent trailer up and take it down by myself - I even backed it up and around several times to remember how to do it! I was blessed to be able to accomplish that goal. I thank Jesus for helping me remember and at my age having the health and strength to do these things.

 Jesus is coming back for me. Until then I must (verse 16-18) rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God in Jesus for me.

He uses "A.C.T.S" as a pattern for prayer. T = thanksgiving. Wow it is no coincidence that the very verse I wrote above is mentioned first thing ... 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "give thanks in all circumstances ..." He uses the story of the ten lepers ... one came back. He said there is a big difference between being grateful and being thankful. Jesus was disappointed when he saw the ten feel grateful, but did not take the time to express it. Then to satisfaction when one came back and was thankful. Like taking a child to a fair - they are grateful you see that they enjoyed. But if that child hugged and thanked you - well you would be ready to take them back for a second round. God must feel those kinds of emotions when we take the time to be thankful not just grateful.

He uses "A.C.T.S" as a pattern for prayer. C = Confess! When I lump all my sins together and confess them as a mass group, it is not too painful or embarrassing.  But to take each sin and deal with it on its own is a whole new ball game. You know that eye roll I tend to do at times ... I need to be specific in my prayers of confession. Our God is so forgiving - but we have to tell Him our sin first.  Psalm 103:12 "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

PRAISES AND BLESSINGS:

I am blessed with enough health and energy to get some yard work done. Can't do as much at a time as I have in the past, but I am getting it done! Thank You Jesus!

Paul was so pleased with the fact that these people continued in their faith. He also points out that he is anxious to return to restore areas of their faith where it might be lacking. To me that means we must continue to learn because we all lack in some area of faith!

He uses "A.C.T.S" as a pattern for prayer. A=adoration. How do we adore our Heavenly Father. We could list all his attributes ... guidance, mercy, power, provision - just to start. We could pick one and meditate on it and tell Him how thankful we are for Him in that area. We could sing Him a song (hopefully in my case no one is near enough to hear :). I do stand in awe of Him.

MY CALL TO ACTION TODAY/MY TIME OF SILENCE NOTES:

I turned down Terry when she asked me to be the leader of the VBS food area. At first I felt so guilty. Then in prayer, I found comfort as it is not my gifted area and if I took it on, then the person meant to do that position would not be found. I am really needing to learn to not overextend myself. I thank the Lord for His guidance in times like this.

 I love blogging and sharing but I posted it accidently on my facebook page ... grrr always in a hurry. Thank goodness there is a delete button, but a few people did read it.

DAILY PRAYERS:
Prayed for 66 members of my family.
Prayed for 18 prayer warriors by name
Prayed for 40 church members by name
Praying for 50 of the lost on our list by name.

Prayed for the personal requests that have been confidentially asked of me to pray.
Prayed forgiveness of any sin I may have committed. I pray for wisdom, guidance and ears to hear and for feet to follow.
Pray for our church to be a house of prayer and the prayer life of the congregation to be elevated.
Prayed for the Salvation Praying Group to increase.
Prayed for the Power Hour of Prayer Group to increase.

Paul talks of how glad he was these people received the gospel and lived it. He truly showed how to care for each other when he said it was like a nurse tenderly caring for her own children. They wanted to share themselves with these people not just the gospel ... I would love to see that kind of loving nurturing in our church.

Today we learn to be refreshed with the knowledge that God is all powerful, all knowing and always present! Yes the words I do not like to pronounce the three omni... words. But as we pray we should really think about who it is whe are praying to. I found that to be my key to praying. What joy it is to come to a Father that loves me so much!

I dreaded the Paint & Pray party and I will not do one again - except one gal will now becoming to church because of that event! Mixed emotions!

He talks about needing a prayer pattern - a structure to your prayer life. As an example he uses the A.C.T.S method = Adoration; Confession; Thanksgiving; Supplication. He says you need a balance in your prayers. It can not always be Give me; Help ... we also need to give thanks and worship. If we do not keep a balance in prayer we might feel guilty and just stop praying.

MY CALL TO ACTION TODAY/MY TIME OF SILENCE NOTES:

I need to pray about what I heard Vicki say vs what she says she said and should I just leave it alone? I know that I asked her outright if she was sure she heard Donna say the Pastor was against Bunco because it was gambling. She said YES. I then said Donna would not schedule a game if pastor was against it. Gerre's never came up in the meeting. I am so confused - do not want to feel like I am starting a problem, but I needed to defend Donna. Maybe Vicki was so upset she does not know how she worded it ... Lord I leave this in your hand and I shall listen for You to tell me what to do. I pray that all confusion disappears and there is unity in our church family.
