I am going to reopen this page and try to post daily and be more accountable.
Daily Prayers:
This morning I prayed for each member of my family (65).
I prayed for the 29 prayer warriors that attend the prayer groups at church. This includes Pastor Sheridan, who gets an extra portion of prayer daily because of the huge target on his back.
I pray for a list of 205 people that are not following the Lord, by name every day.
There are over 200 people in my church family and I prayed over 40 this morning and try to do that each day so that by the end of the week they have each been prayed for at least once.
Bible Reading:
I read until something pops off the page to me. Today I started 1 Corinthians and got to 1:1 ... A man by the name of Sosthenes is working with Paul. But if you read in Romans Sosthenes led the Jews against Paul but they were all thrown out. The Jews became angry with Sosthenes and beat him ... so something must have happened to convert Sosthenes.
That story all in one little verse reminds me that there will be people out there that will give me a hard time about my faith and my walk with the Lord. BUT they might be the very ones that the Holy Spirit is convicting and the enemy is fighting for them ... but they might be right on the verge of conversion ... never give up on anyone.
Book Reading:
I am reading "Listening for God" by Marilyn Hontz. I am in chapter 8 and there is so much information but on pages 101-102 it talks about the "burden of prayer". Sometimes you feel a need to pray for someone or something - it might even wake you up at night. Do it and do it until that feeling goes away even if there does not seem to be an answer. She talks about an experience where they needed a worship leader and her call to pray ... coincidence? I think not!
My call to action today:
I felt led to post a "Sinners Prayer" invitation today. I did it on my facebook page ... this is when the enemy often puts in my mind "Who do you think you are?" But I do anyway , because I think some of those thoughts have to be from God.
I am excited about Tenebrae Service tonight, especially because my friends Pat and Brad will be joining me! So I am off to fix my portion of the meal for tonight!
Have a blessed day!
